Rockford – Residents of the Rock Valley region will get a chance to tour behind-the-scenes areas of the OSF HealthCare Saint Anthony Medical Center’s new North Tower during a Community Day, Saturday, April 7, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The new addition is located on the OSF Saint Anthony campus at 5666 E. State St.
The North Tower is a 144,000 square foot addition to OSF Saint Anthony Medical Center. The four-story building includes 78 private rooms, PromptCare, retail pharmacy, demonstration kitchen, women’s health center/rejuvenation services and more. Work began on the project in 2015 and cost $85 million to build. The project meant more than 700 construction jobs.
“The North Tower is really about the heart of the people who work here,” said OSF HealthCare Saint Anthony Medical Center President Paula Carynski. “The building allows us the space to heighten our patient and family experience.”
In addition to the tour, there will be live local entertainment, refreshments and commemorative gifts (one per family, while supplies last). There will be door prizes, including a $100 Rockford Park District gift certificate and others.
Local entertainment schedule for the day includes:
- Swingfish 10 a.m to noon
- Belvidere North High School band 12:45 to 1:15 p.m.
- Belvidere High School band 1:30 to 2 p.m.
- Oregon High School band 2:15 to 2:45 p.m.
