OSF HealthCare Saint Elizabeth Medical Center Recreation Therapists, Michelle Carson and Seyla Balcazaar, knew Christi Zimmerman enjoyed gardening and was handy with building things. Michelle and Seyla approached Christi to see if she'd be willing to build a raised garden for the Choices Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP).

Ms. Zimmerman agreed to the challenge and stated, "I like to help people. To do things for others."  Christi and her assistant, Jeremy Hillier, completed the garden and delivered it to Choices May 8th.

The new raised garden is the second one for PHP, with both gardens built by individuals who volunteered their time and effort. Christi's continuing input and assistance will be helpful in the further development of a horticulture therapy program at Choices PHP.
