Two Registered Nurses with OSF HealthCare Medical Group were recent recipients of the DAISY Award which recognizes exceptional nurses nationwide on behalf of the DAISY Foundation. Both caregivers were honored during a brief ceremony this past month.
Sara Bowen, RN, of Ransom, has been with OSF HealthCare Medical Group – Ottawa for 6 years and was honored with the DAISY award. Bowen, after overhearing a conversation regarding access issues with OSF MyChart, took the time to assist a patient with troubleshooting and the online registration process. The patient stated, “She took the time to log in through her nursing access and was able to set it up for me to access on my own. Definitely above and beyond!”
Dana Yednock, RN, of Streator, has been with OSF PromptCare – Ottawa for 13 years and was also honored with the DAISY award. A patient of Yednock’s stated, “The doctor and nurse I had were so understanding. I honestly think they had the best bedside manner I have ever experienced! I hope the next time I come to OSF PromptCare, I get the same girls.”
OSF HealthCare encourages patients, family members and fellow Mission Partners to recognize caregivers who have provided exceptional care and service by nominating them for an award to honor their dedication.
