The number of regional influenza cases has shown a significant decline over the past weeks. As a result, OSF HealthCare St. Francis Hospital & Medical Group, is discontinuing their request for the public to limit visits to the hospital.
The hospital had strongly encouraged persons under 18 or anyone with flu-like symptoms to avoid entering patient floors of the hospital. The requests were made in December 2018 and again in March 2019.
Though not anticipated, if there is another increase in positive influenza cases in the community, OSF St. Francis Hospital may again request the public limit visits.
