OSF HealthCare Saint Francis Medical Center has received the American College of Cardiology’s NCDR Chest Pain – MI Registry Platinum Performance Achievement Award for 2019. The medical center is one of only 225 hospitals nationwide to receive the honor.

To receive the Chest Pain – MI Registry Platinum Performance Achievement Award, OSF Saint Francis has demonstrated sustained achievement in the Chest Pain – MI Registry for eight consecutive quarters and has performed at the top level of standards for specific performance measures. The award recognizes the hospital’s commitment and success in implementing a higher standard of care for heart attack patients and signifies that OSF Saint Francis has reached an aggressive goal of treating these patients to standard levels of care as outlined by the American College of Cardiology/American Heart Association clinical guidelines and recommendations.

Chest Pain – MI Registry empowers health care provider teams to consistently treat heart attack patients according to the most current, science-based guidelines and establishes a national standard for understanding and improving the quality, safety and outcomes of care provided for patients with coronary artery disease, specifically high-risk heart attack patients.

OSF Saint Francis has achieved and maintained this status every year since the inception of the award in 2012.
