OSF HealthCare Saint Anthony Medical Center has received the American College of Cardiology’s NCDR ACTION Registry Platinum Performance Achievement Award for 2018. OSF Saint Anthony is one of only 203 hospitals nationwide to receive the honor.

The award recognizes OSF Saint Anthony’s commitment and success in implementing a higher standard of care for heart attack patients and signifies that OSF Saint Anthony has reached an aggressive goal of treating these patients to standard levels of care as outlined by the American College of Cardiology/American Heart Association clinical guidelines and recommendations.

“We are extremely proud to receive this national recognition,” said Dr. Asad Shaikh, a physician with OSF Cardiovascular Institute – Rockford. “This award acknowledges the dedication and commitment of our cardiologists, emergency department physicians, cardiovascular surgeons, hospitalists, emergency medical services agencies, cardiac rehabilitation nurses and staff. Patients can be reassured that they can expect the very best in our heart care, every time.”

To receive the ACTION Registry Platinum Performance Achievement Award, OSF Saint Anthony has demonstrated sustained achievement in the ACTION Registry for six years in a row.
