OSF St. Francis Continues Normal Operations during Water Main Break in Escanaba

1/31/2019 - Escanaba, Michigan

Earlier this morning, OSF HealthCare St. Francis Hospital & Medical Group was notified of a water main break in the city of Escanaba.  After an initial investigation, the hospital leadership team opened their Incident Command Center to manage the event.

There is no major operational impact at this time and all services in the Hospital, Medical Group and offsite clinics continue as usual. Hospital leadership will continue to monitor the event and is receiving updates regularly from the City of Escanaba. OSF HealthCare leadership is also reviewing current and future resource needs for water and ice.

The public should be aware that the hospital will likely begin to see discolored water as the system is flushed. OSF St. Francis Hospital is providing clean drinking water to patients, staff and visitors and is advising nobody drink the tap water in any of the OSF facilities in Escanaba.

OSF HealthCare will continue to notify the public of any changes to services, shall they arise.
