The public is invited to attend the one year anniversary open house celebrating SmartMeals on Tuesday, January 29.
Learn more about SmartMeals, including the vision for the coming year, while enjoying food samples, drinks, and bucket raffles.
SmartMeals changes the way a community is educated about preparing healthy meals, while providing awareness and education about the importance of buying affordable and healthy foods to improve your overall health. This, in turn, impacts a community’s need for increased access to affordable, healthy foods.
While supplies last, anyone in the community can receive free healthy ingredients with a recipe, shopping list and education materials one-time per calendar month. Each month, the Center for Health Lifestyles at OSF HealthCare St. Joseph Medical Center provides ingredients for the healthy meal. All items can be found locally, are simple to make, healthy and budget-friendly.
