OSF HealthCare Saint Francis Medical Center is pleased to announce the most recent winner of the DAISY Award, which recognizes outstanding nursing care. Winners are nominated by patients and their families.
The April 2019 Daisy Award was presented to Tarah Brown from Creve Coeur. She works on the Obstetrics Acute Unit. Her nomination from a patient reads:
Our daughter was born at OSF Saint Francis, and the day after Tarah was our nurse and was an absolute rock star. When she came in at the beginning of her shift, I began to cry because I had no clue what I was doing when it came to breastfeeding and was truly convinced that my baby was starving. She calmed me down and told me that together, we would figure it out. And that is exactly what we did.
The Daisy Award is a national endeavor that recognizes exemplary professional practice among nurses. OSF Saint Francis was the first hospital in the Midwest to participate in the program. Nurses who win receive a special pin and a bouquet of daisies.
