The American Nurses Credentialing Center’s (ANCC) Magnet Recognition Program® has honored OSF Saint Anthony for the fourth time, the most of any hospital in the Rockford region.

Magnet Recognition® has been granted to only eight percent of the nation’s hospitals and of those hospitals, only seven percent have been designated four times.

“Our fourth Magnet Recognition® is confirmation of the outstanding care OSF Saint Anthony nurses provide to our patients,” says Tammie Jones, chief nursing officer. “Our nurses continue to exceed national benchmarks in quality and safety. This designation recognizes the actions we’ve taken to advance the profession of nursing through leadership, innovation, clinical excellence and research.”

The ANCC’s Magnet Recognition Program® is the highest and most prestigious distinction a health care organization can receive for nursing excellence and high-quality patient care.

Hospitals must reapply for the status every four years with each facility providing evidence of excellence and undergoing a site visit that verifies all documentation, nursing satisfaction and engagement. OSF Saint Anthony invests in the re-designation because it keeps the hospital on track for excellence.
