OSF HealthCare Saint Francis Medical Center is pleased to announce the most recent winner of the DAISY Award, which recognizes outstanding nursing care. Winners are nominated by patients and their families.

The September 2019 Daisy Award was presented to Elizabeth Sauder from Goodfield. She works in Radiology. Her nomination from the family member of a patient reads:

Nurse Sauder was phenomenal! She was so kind to my brother from the moment we walked in the door. When the time came for the actual scan, she asked if we might consider trying it without anesthesia. My brother was willing to try. I could hear Nurse Sauder talking to him the entire time of the scan. They were able to get the scan without anesthesia and the added medical risks. We are so very thankful for Nurse Sauder and her great kindness and compassion!

The Daisy Award is a national endeavor that recognizes exemplary professional practice among nurses. OSF Saint Francis was the first hospital in the Midwest to participate in the program. Nurses who win receive a special pin and a bouquet of daisies.
