(Ottawa, IL / July 20, 2020) – A Registered Nurse (RN) and a Front Office Assistant were two recent recipients of the DAISY and Sunflower Awards offered by OSF HealthCare. Both caregivers were honored with brief ceremonies held this month.

Kelsi Richard, RN, of Streator, received the DAISY Award, which recognizes exceptional nurses nationwide on behalf of the DAISY Foundation. Richard has been employed by OSF HealthCare for almost ten years and works within the OSF Multi-Specialty Group at OSF PromptCare located on the south side of Ottawa. Richard is expected to obtain her advanced practice nursing (APN) degree in August of 2021.

The Sunflower Award, a recognition program offered to non-nursing Mission Partners with OSF HealthCare, was given to Katrina Bruck of Ottawa. Bruck has been employed by OSF HealthCare for seven months and currently works as a Front Office Assistant at OSF PromptCare on the south side of Ottawa.

Both Richard and Bruck were nominated by a patient who stated, “I am always very impressed with Katrina and Kelsi. They are also so friendly and polite. Whenever I see them they always ask me if there is anything they can do for me or if they can get me anything, and I am always so pleased with their service.”

OSF HealthCare encourages patients, family members, and fellow Mission Partners to recognize caregivers who have provided exceptional care and service by nominating them for an award to honor their dedication.
