(Ottawa, IL / September 30, 2020) – OSF HealthCare recently honored two Mission Partners with awards for providing excellent care. Both caregivers were honored during ceremonies held earlier this month.

Jennifer Hauser, RN, of Ottawa, received the DAISY Award, which recognizes exceptional nurses nationwide on behalf of the DAISY Foundation. Hauser has worked at OSF Saint Elizabeth Medical Center for almost two years and works in the Medical/Surgical Acute unit. Hauser was nominated by a patient’s caregiver who stated, “If I had to choose someone who far exceeds expectations of quality care it would be Jen. She blends education, care and compassion. She excels at the emotional, mental and physical well-being of the patient.”

The Sunflower Award, a recognition program offered to non-nursing Mission Partners with OSF HealthCare, was given to Haley Aubry of Utica. Aubry has been employed with OSF HealthCare for nine years and currently works in the Obstetrics Acute unit as an OB technician. Aubry was nominated by two patients who both praised her for going above and beyond to offer exceptional care. One patient stated, “It means so much to me that you value your patients. Thank you for answering all my questions and helping us with the car seat base and continually making sure my son and I were okay. I can tell you take your job seriously and that makes me feel valued as a patient and a woman. You made an impact on me and made me feel comfortable and confident."

OSF HealthCare encourages patients, family members, and fellow Mission Partners to recognize caregivers who have provided exceptional care and service by nominating them for an award to honor their dedication.
