OSF HealthCare Saint Elizabeth Medical Center is pleased to announce the Sunflower Award was recently presented to Michael Fleming, Patient Care Tech in the Behavioral Health Unit. Mike has been with OSF HealthCare for almost two years and resides in Ottawa, IL.
"The Sunflower Award recognizes care team members outside of nursing for the extraordinary care they provide to those we serve, and Mike is definitely deserving," said Heather Bomstad, Vice President/Chief Nursing Officer for OSF Saint Elizabeth Medical Center.
Flemings' nomination reads, "Mike Fleming is a CNA who brought joy to my room every time he appeared. He was always available for a transfer or for cheering up an anxious patient before a procedure. On my last day, as he wished me well, I asked if he gave hugs. He said, "sure!" After he signed off from his duties, he came back to my room and gave me my much-needed hug."
