(January 12, 2021-GALESBURG, Illinois) – OSF HealthCare Holy Family Medical Center in Monmouth, Illinois is expanding care options with the introduction of cataract surgery. The cataract is a cloudiness of the natural lens of the eye. It affects the activities of daily living such as driving, reading, watching tv.
Ophthalmologist Dr. Linda M. Auer will be performing cataract surgeries at OSF HealthCare Holy Family starting on February 1, 2021.
Dr. Auer has provided outpatient services at OSF Galesburg Clinic for the OSF Medical Group for 22.2 years.
“We are excited an expert surgeon such as Dr. Auer will be able to perform cataract surgery at OSF Holy Family,” stated Jackie Kernan, president of OSF Holy Family and OSF Saint Luke Medical Center in Kewanee. “Cataract surgery is the number one outpatient surgery in the nation and we know Monmouth-area residents will welcome the ability to receive this procedure close to home.”
All pre and post-op appointments for Dr. Auer will be conducted at the Galesburg office and all cataract surgeries will be performed in Monmouth.
Dr. Auer, DO is an ophthalmology specialist. She graduated from Des Moines University College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1992. She is accepting new patients with a referral from a primary care provider or eye care center provider.
