No Tuition Increase for Saint Anthony College of Nursing Fall Semester

6/18/2021 - Rockford, Illinois

For the first time in six years, the Saint Anthony College of Nursing will not implement a tuition increase for the upcoming school year.

During the College’s annual budget planning session, leaders compared tuition and fees from other colleges and universities in the region. Combining those elements with the College’s commitment to offer a high quality, affordable education, a proposal was presented to the College Board for a zero-percent increase in tuition for the 2021-2022 academic year.

“The Board recognized the long-term implication for continuing to offer education to students who are experiencing tighter personal finances,” said Sandie Soldwisch, president, Saint Anthony College of Nursing.

The College also received assistance from the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act, which includes a Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund (HEERF) that provides emergency funding to higher education.

“Those funds had specific allocations which included funds directed to students,” said Soldwisch. “In analyzing the method to allocate the funds to students we increasingly saw the effect of the pandemic on students.  As with all members of society, those effects affected all aspects of life from personal relationships, to organization and time management, access to resources, and financial.”

Currently there are 197 undergraduate and 67 graduate students enrolled for the 2021 fall semester. For additional enrollment information, visit www.sacn.edu
