  • OSF HealthCare St. Mary Medical Center recently completed an extensive brick and window replacement project spanning over five years.

OSF HealthCare St. Mary Medical Center recently completed an extensive brick and window replacement project spanning over five years. The renovation replaced 348,652 bricks and 140 windows. The OSF St. Mary building was constructed in 1974, so the brick improvements were necessary to maintain the integrity of the building.

“The safety and well-being of our patients, Mission Partners and visitors was our top priority during the project as we worked hard to update our infrastructure,” said Diane Driscoll, Vice President of Operations. “We are very happy with the results. We appreciate the community’s patience and support throughout the process.”

POINTCORE Construction managed the project. POINTCORE Construction is a health care program management and construction management company with a mission to provide clients with the highest level of professional construction services.

“This renovation project allowed us to add steel reinforcement between the existing concrete masonry or concrete block surface and the brick to meet today’s structural requirements,” said Kory Tinkham, project manager. “We needed to upgrade the structural and exterior components of the building for better weather proofing and energy efficiency.”

OSF St. Mary Mission Partners celebrated completion of the brick project last week with a lunch, complimentary T-shirts and activities on campus.
