OSF HealthCare Saint Anthony Medical Center Mission Partners (employees) came together to help feed children around the world.

OSF Saint Anthony hosted a meal-packing event on Tuesday, December 13, where more than 70 Mission Partners packed 30,000 meals for kids in need.

“OSF has always been all about giving the greatest care and love, and we were kind of contained to these four walls,” said Adam Schafer, clinical nutrition manager for the medical center and coordinator of the volunteer effort. “So we wanted to do something more for the community, and for the world in this case.”

Kids Around the World empowers groups like OSF Saint Anthony Medical Center to be a part of the solution to fight childhood malnutrition. OneMeal food is packed and sponsored by partners and volunteers at events around the U.S. and shipped overseas to serve malnourished children in orphanages, schools, home, churches and community feeding centers.

According to Kids Around the World, one in seven kids in the world suffers from the effects of food insecurity, living in a chronic state of malnutrition.
