OSF MyChart gives patients the flexibility to schedule and change appointments online to suit their busy lifestyle. In February, we introduced self-scheduling, also known as “ticket scheduling,” in select regions to start. We are pleased to announce that this option has now expanded to our area, effective June 28!
As efforts continue to digitally enhance health care and meet patient demands and expectations, a multidisciplinary team at OSF HealthCare has recognized an opportunity to make scheduling appointments more easily. Using OSF MyChart, patients can self-schedule appointments for general x-ray, bone density tests (dexa) and ultrasound. Patients needing these diagnostic services will receive an order from their provider, triggering a message from OSF MyChart that an appointment is ready to be scheduled.
With the expanded use of self-scheduling, OSF MyChart can reduce cancellation and no-show rates, while improving patient satisfaction and keeping provider schedules full. Patients are able to schedule a diagnostic test when it’s convenient for them. Then, using eCheck-in through OSF MyChart, they can pre-register for their appointment and sign any necessary documents prior to their appointment time. This process provides patients with a seamless and nearly touchless process from scheduling through registration.
