OSF Hospice in Galesburg has earned five stars from the Centers for Medicare/Medicaid Services (CMS) based on feedback from family caregivers.
The Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (CAHPS®) Survey is a national survey of family members or friends who cared for a patient who died while under hospice care. The survey contains 47 questions and ratings are measured based on eight categories:
- Communication with family
- Getting timely help
- Treating patient with respect
- Emotional and spiritual support
- Help for pain and symptoms
- Training family to care for patient
- Rating of hospice care
- Willing to recommend hospice
This rating places OSF Hospice in the top 10% of hospices in the nation, with only 195 of 2,026 hospices achieving this score. OSF Hospice in Peoria covers Peoria, Tazewell, Knox, Fulton, Henderson, Woodford, Hancock, Marshall, McDonough, Warren, Henry, Mercer, Stark, Putnam, Logan and Bureau counties.
