OSF Saint Luke celebrates service during National Volunteer Week

4/18/2023 - Kewanee, Illinois

OSF HealthCare Saint Luke Medical Center is celebrating National Volunteer Week April 17-21. This special recognition has been celebrated annually since 1974 and continues to grow.

Volunteers are an integral part of the hospital and we are fortunate to have many compassionate individuals serving our patients, Mission Partners and community.

Each year, our volunteers dedicate thousands of hours to our patients and community. In 2022, our volunteers logged over 4,200 hours. Their commitment to Kewanee and our patients is just one of the reasons we celebrate these phenomenal individuals.

Volunteers serve the hospital in a variety of areas. We have volunteers stationed at our Information Desk assisting patients and visitors as they enter the hospital. These volunteers might also serve as transporters, escorting patients to their destination. Volunteers at the west waiting area desk greet patients, ensure they have registered and monitor wait times. We also have volunteers in the Alcove Gift Shop running day-to-day operations, wrapping gifts and restocking merchandise.

We are always looking for new volunteers to live out our Mission of serving with the greatest care and love. Volunteers make a difference and we welcome the difference you'll make for our patients and Mission Partners. If you or someone you know is interested in volunteering, contact Courtney Cinnamon at (309) 852-7786.
