In addition to treating patients with General Surgery needs, Dr. Tsoraides is fellowship-trained and board-certified in colon and rectal surgery. This includes treatment of common disorders such as hemorrhoids and rectal pain, as well as the more specialized care of colon and rectal cancer.

He is well trained in advanced techniques including small incision minimally invasive surgery and is well-published in the field, including co-authoring a book chapter entitled Robotic Surgery of the Colon with surgeon, Dr. David Crawford.

He is one of the few pioneers in the region offering Transanal Endoscopic Microsurgery, which allows some patients to avoid colostomy for large rectal polyps and early cancers.  He is now accepting new patients at Peoria Surgical Group’s offices in Illinois Medical Center located near UICOMP.

Many patients have left a mark on Dr. Tsoraides. Although these are too many to mention, as surgeons we are reminded that our most important teacher is the patient. Along with the other physicians in our medical community, Dr. Tsoraides places great value on the trust our patients have in us.

Dr. Tsoraides has always called Illinois home and takes pride in befriending and caring for the good people of Central Illinois. He attends All Saints Greek Orthodox Church in Peoria.

Dr. Tsoraides actually grew up in an auto repair shop and has been working with his hands from a young age. Although his hands haven taken on different tasks over the years, he continues to enjoy the art and science of the profession which he has joined.
