Allison Stafford grew up in Lansing, Michigan, where she almost always had an interest in the medical profession. However, it was an opportunity during high school to shadow a physician assistant that made her realize the profession was a good fit for her.

She studied pre-med at Ferris State University in Big Rapids, Michigan and she got her degree in physician assistant studies at Midwestern University in Downers Grove, Illinois.

“I love being a physician assistant because there are many different opportunities and avenues to explore,” Allison said. “It is a very versatile profession but allows time for a personal life too.

“My approach to care is to establish good rapport with patients and provide the best care I can. I hope that patients can feel comfortable and have their concerns addressed to the best of my ability during their appointments with me.”

Allison prefers a smaller tight-knit community where people know each other and a familiar smile is easy to find, so it’s no surprise she loves the environment in Escanaba and at OSF HealthCare.

She and her husband, Charlie, have a German shepherd named Huck. She likes golfing, music, traveling, crafts and spending time with family and friends.
