Born and raised in Peoria, Illinois, Dr. Trace Swain is excited to practice in his hometown, close to his family.
At the age of 17, Dr. Swain shadowed Dr. Robert Gomez, a heart surgeon at OSF HealthCare at the time, as he performed a heart procedure. It was at that moment Dr. Swain knew what he wanted to do for the rest of his life.
“I went into medicine for the sole reason to be a heart surgeon,” Dr. Swain said. “I love what I do, and I take great pride in doing it to the best of my ability.”
“My approach to care is to provide perfect results for every patient, every time. Precision and efficiency is very important to me.”
Aside from practicing medicine, Dr. Swain enjoys playing golf, investing in the stock market and attending church with his family.
He is married with children and says his family gives him strength and great balance to his work life.
