Dr. Jacob was born in raised in Qatar. Both of his parents were physicians and influenced his decision to pursue a career in medicine, and he believes his practice pushes him to be his best.
“I love my practice,” he said. “Intellectually, it motivates me to stay up-to-date on the latest advances in the field of medicine, which continues to fascinate me every single day. Spiritually, I believe it fosters in me an attitude of humility, positivity and care for others. The demands of work and the knowledge of my own health help me stay fit physically.”
The culture and values of OSF HealthCare fill well with Dr. Jacob’s own attitude toward serving others. Plus, the relationship among his team makes him excited to go to work every morning.
He loves getting to perform as both an outpatient physician and an intensive care physician in the Intensive Care Unit at OSF HealthCare Saint Anthony Medical Center. For him, it’s all about identifying the unique needs of each patient and meeting those needs.
“I strive to provide care that is respectful and responsive to individual preferences and values while assisting patients to guide clinical decisions,” he said. “I hope this can be done in a compassionate manner and will help improve their health, well-being and quality of life.”
Dr. Jacob is married to an endocrinologist and the couple have four sons. In his spare time he likes reading, traveling and doing handy activities like home improvement projects.
