Carrie Finley was born and raised in Mendota, Illinois. She was interested in medicine from a young age. She was fascinated by the science of the human body and often read whatever medical books she could find.
Her experience with the doctor and nurses who cared for her during a childhood health issue showed her just how positively health care providers can impact their patients using humor, love and compassion.
She became a certified nursing assistant at 16 and pursued her nursing degree after she graduated high school.
After working in an Emergency Department for a decade, Carrie chose to become a family nurse practitioner for the opportunity to care for people and develop relationships with them as they grow and develop. She wants to help people lead their best life through health promotion and disease management.
“I see myself as the patient's health care partner,” Carrie said. “Patients and families can depend on me to guide them with up-to-date, evidence-based care that takes each patient and family need into consideration. My patients can count on me to listen to their concerns, and I will strive to empower them to make the changes necessary to improve their quality of life.”
Carrie is married and has children. She likes spending her free time with her family, cheering on her kids at their sporting events, band concerts and dance recitals. The family likes going on long hikes together, too.
