Philosophy of Care A wise doctor once told me, “… in order to be a great doctor, you have to understand people first and medicine second.” I try to live by those words and work to develop a plan of care that’s best for them.
The OSF HealthCare Mission of serving with the greatest care and love mirrors Dr. Braaten’s own Christian values. “It’s a step in the right direction of patient care,” he said.
He was drawn to medicine because he wanted to help people on a human-to-human level.
“I’m here to serve people,” he said.
Dr. Braaten chose internal medicine because it’s the “backbone of adult medicine. We are responsible for helping adult patients and guiding them to the right specialists for continuity of care.”
One thing he’d like patients to know is that, “I respect and listen carefully to everyone.”
