Sudhir Mungee was born and raised in Indore, a city in central India. Early in his childhood Sudhir became interested in medicine. An uncle was a prominent physician of the region and Sudhir was impressed with the recognition and respect he received. He also felt driven to fulfill his father's dream of becoming a doctor.
Dr. Mungee received honors and recognition as "Best Resident" while at the Lincoln Medical and Mental Health Center, an affiliate of New York Medical College. He spent the next four years as the only physician serving the community of Stanley, North Dakota.
It was during this time that Dr. Mungee became known as "the people's doctor" becoming a beloved member of the community. While in North Dakota, he served as assistant clinical professor of the internal medicine faculty for the University of North Dakota. While there, he was actively involved in the dream project for the community, building a new 3 million dollar hospital.
During this time Sudhir developed a greater interest in cardiology and decided to pursue further education by completing an Electrophysiology Research and Clinical Fellowship at Michigan State University, a Cardiology Fellowship at SUNY Downstate University in New York, and an Interventional Cardiology Fellowship, also at SUNY Downstate University. He is certified in nuclear physics and diagnostic imaging. Dr. Mungee is experienced in all aspects of interventional procedures of the heart.
Sudhir is married and the father of two, a son and a daughter. When not taking care of patients, Dr. Mungee enjoys tennis, golf, singing, and cooking authentic Indian cuisine.
