Philosophy of Care Mothers take care of everyone - their children, partner, parents, etc. - and in my office I want them to feel like they are care for. I think of myself as the moms’ mom.
Associated with OSF St. Joseph Medical Center
Dr. Carroll chose to work at OSF HealthCare, and specifically in the eastern region, to increase the availability of high-risk pregnancy consultation and management with the hope of improving both maternal and newborn outcomes.
“I strive to have every mother I see feel she is being treated with the greatest care and love,” she said.
Dr. Carroll knew at age 5 she wanted to pursue a medical career after being diagnosed with a serious birth defect.
“I underwent several surgeries and spent quite some time in the hospital. When my doctor came to see me on rounds, I remember quite clearly that my father stood up. My father didn’t stand up and have such obvious respect for that many people. It made an impression on me and I thought, ‘I want people, especially my dad, to feel that way about me,’” she said.
When not working, Dr. Carroll enjoys reading, especially mysteries, traveling and being the “World’s Best Aunt” to her nieces and nephews.
