Patient satisfaction often reflects how willing doctors and nurses are to listen, answer questions and explain treatments; how much time doctors spend with patients; and if the medical center is clean and the food is good. Patient satisfaction data can predict how satisfying your experience is likely to be.
Our patients have the opportunity to complete patient satisfaction surveys developed by Press Ganey Associates, Inc., the healthcare industry's leading independent vendor of satisfaction measurement services. The firm annually processes nearly 8 million completed surveys in all 50 states and serves 40 percent of all hospitals with more than 100 beds.
Hospital and emergency department patients are sent a Press Ganey satisfaction survey after discharge. Results are tabulated and tracked monthly, quarterly and annually for each department and for the hospital as a whole. In addition to our own scores, our results are compared to national averages so we know how OSF Saint Francis compares to medical centers throughout the country.
