Quality Reports

How do you define quality in health care?  When you visit a doctor or hospital, or when health care workers provide services to you at home, you should expect to receive the best care possible.

That is your right as a patient to receive quality care for your illness or disease condition.  What does this mean? The best possible care is seen differently by patients, depending on their health care needs, conditions and diseases.

Here are some basic expectations that should be present during every patient experience:

  • You should expect care that is free from harm or mistakes.
  • You should be treated with dignity and respect.
  • You should have all of your questions answered, completely and politely.
  • You should be included in decision-making regarding your care.

There are many organizations that have an interest in monitoring how well doctors and hospitals perform the health care services you seek.  OSF HealthCare provides data to many of these “public reporting” organizations and agencies.  They use our data to create public reports that help you evaluate and compare the services of hospitals and physician groups across the country.

But we don’t just report the data.  At OSF HealthCare, we use our data to explore and develop new and better ways to provide the highest quality and safest care for our patients.

Our Hospital Report Card

We encourage you to learn more about our hospital and how we compare to state and national averages.

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) sponsors a site called that allows you to view our hospital profile and report card and compare our marks to other hospitals across the nation.
