Gynecologic Cancer

As a patient of the OSF Saint Francis Cancer Program, you receive care from expert physicians and specialists who use the most innovative approaches to treat gynecological cancers, including cervical, endometrial, fallopian tube, ovarian, uterine, vaginal or vulvar. Our treatments are designed to curing the cancer while minimizing the effects to the rest of your body and overall health.

Our patients benefit from the collaboration of multidisciplinary teams that meet weekly to review individual patient cases and discuss treatment plans.  The team includes surgical oncologists (doctors who remove cancer through surgery), radiation oncologists (doctors who use radiation to treat cancer), medical oncologists (doctors who use specialized drugs to treat cancer), and radiologists (doctors who use imaging to diagnose cancer). We personalize your treatment plan every step of the way, supporting your challenges, keeping your spirits up, listening to your concerns and strengthening your overall wellbeing.

As knowledge about gynecologic cancer continues to expand, more encouraging treatment options are available now than ever before. OSF expertise is further demonstrated through the use of minimally invasive laparoscopic procedures for gynecological cancer, including robotic surgery. This approach significantly shortens recovery times (two weeks rather than up to six weeks), lessens postoperative pain, requires smaller incisions and reduces the risk of complications.
