A breath of fresh air. It’s not easy for everyone.
If you ever feel like you can't get enough air? Or cough and wheeze when you breathe? Or experience chest pain or tightness? Or find you’re walking slower than other people your age?
The human respiratory system (composed of your nose, throat, windpipe and lungs) allows the body to take in oxygen and discard carbon dioxide - a process essential to life itself.
With disorders and diseases that can affect your ability to breathe and perform these functions, having resources to treat them is critical. Our respiratory care specialists work closely with your physician to provide cardiac stress tests, echo testing, holter monitoring, EKGs and and EEGs. Our sleep lab here on the OSF Saint Luke campus is an added benefit if you are experiencing breathing or other sleep disorders that are keeping you from a full night's rest.
