CornaPalooza 5K/10K Run/Walk - Saturday, August 11, 2018
The 11th Annual CornaPalooza 5K/10K race and fitness walk started at Lake Mendota (1901 Tom Merwin Drive, Mendota, Illinois) at 8 a.m. on Saturday, August 11, 2018. Please see results below, and watch this space for 2019 information!
- 2018 proceeds benefited the start-up of OSF Saint Paul Community Garden; a new program that will be impactful not only in the harvest it provides but also in the collaboration of the community towards health and wellness.
About the Course
The USATF-certified 5K (IL-12139 JW) and 10K (IL-12140-JW) courses start & end at Lake Mendota (1901 Tom Merwin Drive). Race participants follow signs & enter Lake Mendota property from Route 251/52 & Tom Merwin Drive. Follow signage for designated parking. The course will take you west outside of Mendota to take on the rolling hills & sights of rural Mendota. 10K course will include a 1-mile stretch of compacted gravel road. All runners will experience a mile or more of Lake Kakusha TRAIL!
All traffic control & water stations will be pulled from roads as last runner passes or when 10K reaches 1 ½ hours. Not responsible for late starters on the course. NO double wide strollers allowed.
