Whether it’s natural family planning or the treatment of infertility, to those just starting the menstrual cycle or those nearing menopause, the OSF Women’s Health and FertilityCare helps patients at every stage in life.

The best part about the OSF Women’s Health and FertilityCare is the lasting impact the Mission Partners and programs have on patients.

Read below for just a few of the highlighted stories, told by the patients themselves, on how the OSF Women’s Health and FertilityCare impacted their lives.

Brooke Billeter

Byron, Illinois

“My story with NaPro technology began when my husband and I went to a Natural Family Planning seminar that was hosted by our Diocese. The speaker was talking about the varying types of infertility and what causes them. It wasn’t too far into the seminar when I looked to my husband Jake and said ‘This is exactly what I have!'

At this particular point she was speaking about Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS). I had been having issues ever since puberty which had gone misdiagnosed by multiple doctors for eight years, but 45 minutes into this seminar I felt as though I was finally getting answers! I started seeing Dr. Edison Lim at OSF Medical Group – Cherry Valley and was diagnosed with PCOS.

From that point on, I was on a hormonal treatment but still wasn’t cycling regularly, so Dr. Lim suggested I should have an Ovarian wedge resection procedure.

I underwent the surgery in November, 2014. Within two months of trying to conceive, we found out we were expecting and now have an extremely outgoing, healthy, happy four-month old son!

“Without the NaPro education at our Natural Family Planning seminar, I would still be infertile with no answers insight.

Because of the amazing OSF Women’s Health and FertilityCare team, I carried full term and now have the greatest blessing in the world.”

Ashley Householter

Eureka, Illinois

“After experiencing more than a year of infertility, my husband Aaron and I decided to explore the Creighton Model FertilityCare System through the OSF Women’s Health and FertilityCare.

The model is a great way to monitor your own body, instead of using other medications. The practitioners discovered that my infertility was caused by polycystic ovarian disease (PCOD).

From the moment I met Dr. Jillian Stalling, she really took over my care and administered in-depth testing that I wasn’t getting with my previous doctor.

I underwent a NaPro wedge resection procedure in December of last year to help treat my polycystic ovaries. Just more than one month after the surgery, my husband and I found out we are expecting twins! And it’s all without the use of ovulation stimulator medicine!

We had a lot of people praying for us, and my husband and I believe in God’s plan. I thank Him for His blessings for leading us to Dr. Stalling and the OSF Women’s Health and FertilityCare's services.”

Carla Zaio

Oak Park, Illinois

“I first heard about the OSF Women’s Health and FertilityCare through my church near Chicago as part of a family planning program for marriage preparation.

I started working with a NaPro coach and began charting my natural cycles with the Creighton Model FertilityCare System.

Some charting irregularities were detected, and my coach recommended I contact Dr. Jillian Stalling.

After some initial laparoscopy procedures, I underwent a 13-hour endometriosis removal surgical procedure by Dr. Stalling in 2014.

Later that year, my husband and I found out we were expecting a baby! Now we have a beautiful baby boy, Jaxson Lee Zaio, our little miracle!

With infertility, it’s easy to feel hopeless and disappointed, but Dr. Stalling restored my hope.

Before experiencing the OSF Women’s Health and FertilityCare, none of my previous doctors gave me an accurate diagnosis.

I want to thank everyone at OSF HealthCare who directly or indirectly had a part in leading me on my path. Even if you’re not directly involved, every little bit of effort helps patients like me!”

From a Doctor Annevay Conlee, MD

OSF Medical Group

“Working as an OSF HealthCare family physician, I have had the joy of seeing women benefit from the fertility care services we offer.

We have developed a center focused on women to improve their health as well as treat infertility.

To have this resource available at OSF HealthCare facilities is a great asset for surrounding communities.

When being treated for infertility, the approach is to improve a woman’s health and treat the medical problem that is causing or decreasing a woman’s fertility.

In doing this, not only are we helping her achieve her goal of improving fertility and having a child, but also making her a healthier, more empowered woman with much more knowledge of how her body works.”
