OSF Rehabilitation Services offers speech therapy on both an outpatient and inpatient basis for adults and children.
Our wide range of services can help you or a loved one stay and home and thrive, rather than needing to live in a facility.
We can help you with:
- Language delay/disorder
- Voice disorders
- Articulation and phonology delay/disorder
- Home safety awareness
- Problem solving
- Financial management
- Medication management
We see children and adults of all ages with a physician referral.
All treatments begin with an initial evaluation to assess your needs and develop a custom treatment plan.
For patients with swallowing disorders, we can perform a videofluoroscopic swallow study to assess their pharyngeal swallow function. We can provide strengthening and coordination therapies and safe swallow strategies for people with reduced pharyngeal strength.
We are also the region’s only facility that offers VitalStim®, a cutting-edge therapy technology that uses electrical stimulation to strengthen and train the muscles that control swallowing.
We also offer both high-tech and low-tech augmentative communication options for patients with reduced speech abilities, plus the education and training needed to properly use new communication resources.
Spaced retrieval therapy helps patients with dementia or other memory disorders with their recall memory, financial management, medication management, home safety and more, so people can retain as much independence as possible in their home life.
