Frequently Asked Questions

  • Is OSF Urgo part of a larger health care system?

  • OSF Urgo is part of OSF HealthCare, a faith-based, 14-hospital health care system serving Illinois and the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Since 1877, OSF HealthCare has kept our Mission strong – to serve people with the greatest care and love. With over 150 primary care and specialist offices and neuroscience, pediatric, cardiovascular and home care services, OSF patients have access to a variety of medical services. As health care continues to change, OSF remains at the forefront of innovation and technology while always providing compassionate care to every patient, every day

  • How are OSF Urgo clinics staffed?

  • Each OSF Urgo clinic is staffed by two certified medical assistants (CMA), one radiology technologist and one advanced practice nurse. The CMAs and radiology technologist are known as Care Guides and stay with you throughout the visit.

  • When should I choose OSF Urgo for care?

  • If you or a family member are ill or have suffered a minor injury that does not pose an immediate threat to their health or life, OSF Urgo is likely the right choice instead of going to an emergency department. If the medical condition is serious or life-threatening, you should call 911 immediately or get to the nearest emergency department. Additional options for care when a person is ill or has suffered a minor injury include OSF OnCall or one of our many OSF PromptCare locations. OSF OnCall provides 24/7 urgent care services online or by phone, and OSF PromptCare provides non-life-threatening health care services in a more traditional setting across numerous communities in Illinois.

  • Can I schedule my OSF Urgo visit?

  • Yes. All OSF Urgo locations allow you to schedule an appointment online at the OSF Urgo website. Just find the location nearest you and click "schedule."
