OSF HealthCare is excited to welcome Mara Lefler, an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) to the staff at its OSF Medical Group in Monmouth.
Lefler specializes in Family Medicine, including child wellness exams, adult preventative check-ups, and chronic disease management.
Lefler received her advanced medical education from OSF HealthCare Saint Francis Medical Center College of Nursing in Peoria and is certified in Basic Life Support (BLS). Lefler has also done research and has a special interest in childhood obesity.
“I have always enjoyed living in a rural community and know that rural health is always a necessity, which is one of the reasons I chose to work for OSF HealthCare at the Rural Health Clinic in Monmouth,” said Mara Lefler, APRN. “Plus, I really enjoy treating children as well as adults so Family Medicine gives me the best of both worlds.”
“Recruiting health care providers for smaller, rural communities can be a challenge so it is particularly rewarding when we can find someone with the impressive credentials and passion Mara Lefler brings to Monmouth and surrounding communities, “ said Patty Luker, President of Holy Family Medical Center in Monmouth.
Luker added, “Lefler understands the unique value an Advanced Practice Provider can offer individuals and families including health promotion, disease prevention, patient education, counseling and management of acute and chronic illnesses. I believe Lefler’s addition to our compassionate and expert staff will raise an already high bar we’ve set for efficiency along with quality patient care and satisfaction.”
Lefler is accepting new patients at OSF Medical Group, 1000 West Harlem Avenue, Monmouth, IL 61462. Appointments can be made by calling (309) 734-1414.
