About the Hospital

OSF St. Joseph Medical Center OSF HealthCare St. Joseph Medical Center, a 149-bed, Level II Trauma Center accredited by The Joint Commission, was named one of Newsweek’s World’s Best Hospitals in 2020, 2021 and 2023. OSF St. Joseph features specialty services including cardiovascular surgery, neurosurgery and neurointerventional radiology. It is designated a Magnet hospital for nursing excellence.

With its strong connection to OSF HealthCare Children’s Hospital of Illinois, OSF St. Joseph offers maternal-fetal medicine, 24/7 neonatology and local access to several pediatric specialties. OSF St. Joseph Birthing Center is a Baby-Friendly Hospital. Founded in 1880 by The Sisters of the Third Order of St. Francis, OSF St. Joseph was the second hospital in the OSF system.

OSF St. Joseph is committed to promoting health through treatment and prevention of disease, and providing a healthy environment for our staff and those we serve. Consistently, OSF St. Joseph recognizes the adverse health effects of tobacco products and second-hand tobacco smoke.

Therefore, the use of tobacco products in any form (i.e. cigarettes, cigars, chewing tobacco, snuff, pipes, electronic cigarettes, etc.) is prohibited on OSF St. Joseph property.
