Benito Bean Dip

This is a quick and easy recipe that is sure to be a party pleaser!  It is a great buy for your “calorie dollars” at only 27 calories per serving.  Plus, you’ll get 5 grams of fiber along with it – that’s about 20% of the daily value!  Be sure to serve with baked chips to keep the calories and fat low.

Serves: 1/3 cup


3 green onions

1 (48oz) jar pinto beans 

1 cup salsa 

1/2 tsp cumin or chili powder 


  1. Rinse and drain pinto beans. Set aside.
  2. Chop green onions in a food processor.
  3. Add pinto beans, salsa, and cumin (or chili powder) to processor and blend thoroughly.
  4. Serve at room temperature or slightly chilled with baked tortilla chips.
