Visiting a Patient

Hours & Guidelines

OSF Holy Family Medical Center offers open visiting hours so there are no restrictions on when you can visit your loved one. After 8 p.m., however, please enter and exit the hospital through the Emergency Department.

Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times. We ask that visitors with colds and other illnesses refrain from visiting any patient care units. Visitors are limited to two or three at a time.

One family member or significant other may remain with the patient at all times.  We ask that all visitors to our facility use the hand sanitizer provided upon entering and exiting the patient room.

Medical and nursing staff has the authority to restrict visitation if they feel the well-being of the patient may be compromised.  Visiting of patients in isolation is welcome, but the guidelines posted outside the patient’s room must be followed.  If in doubt, please ask for assistance from nursing personnel.   

Family Room

A family room is available for visitors to use during the patient's stay on the Acute Care Wing.  The family room has a sofa, chairs, dining table and chairs, desk, television and magazines.
