The Virtual Dermatology platform automatically checks image quality during submission and may ask you to retake photos that weren't clear enough.
In some cases, the dermatologist may decide that additional high-resolution images are needed before a treatment recommendation can be provided. If this happens, you may choose to purchase a MoleScope. This device attaches to your mobile phone and can capture more detailed images for you to submit through the platform. You can also choose to schedule an in-person evaluation with your primary care provider or a local dermatologist.
If additional photos are needed before a recommendation can be made, you will not be charged for a virtual dermatology consultation. Charges only apply when a dermatologist is able to complete a professional review, assessment and recommendation.
