OSF HealthCare accepts and is contracted with many insurance plans. Using an in-network provider from a contracted plan usually lowers your out-of-pocket costs. Always check which insurance plans are in network before scheduling care at a particular OSF facility.
When you receive a bill from OSF, it will reflect any payment made by your insurance provider and the amount that you owe. If you ever have questions about your bill, we’re here to help you understand your balance and payment options.
Choose the type of coverage you have from the options below. This will help us show the most relevant information for your plan.
After your visit to OSF HealthCare, your insurance provider will review the care you received, determine which costs it is responsible for covering based on your insurance plan and submit payment to OSF. You will then receive a bill from OSF detailing any payments made by your insurance provider and any remaining charges that are your responsibility, such as a copay, deductible or non-covered services.
The timing of when you receive a bill from OSF depends on how quickly your insurance provider completes its review and payment. When you receive the bill, you will have several options for making a payment. If you cannot pay the amount you’ve been billed, financial assistance options are available.
Our financial navigators can help you understand the basics of Medicare, including what’s covered under Parts A, B, C and D as well as which Medicare Advantage insurance plans are accepted at your nearest OSF facility.
They can also share information about enrollment periods and how they work. While they can’t recommend specific plans, they can help you feel confident in understanding your options.
