Healthy Cooking
The Center for Healthy Lifestyles' state-of-the-art kitchen provides a quality multi-functional classroom space including a fully functional demonstration kitchen. Our registered dietitians team up with personal chefs to teach the latest tips about shopping, cooking and eating smart. The Center for Healthy Lifestyles offers classes on a seasonal basis and for a range of ages, so you are sure to find a class to fit your nutrition needs any time of year. A complete schedule of classes is published quarterly.
Exercise Classes
We provide various exercise classes, including Dance Yourself Fit and Pilates. In addition to fitness classes, we also have an exercise physiologist who will work with you one on one to reach your personal fitness goals. We can also refer you to the OSF Fitness Center for additional classes.
Health and Wellness Programs
From “Meet the Medical Expert” to smoking cessation, the Center for Healthy Lifestyles has a program to help you. Topics tend to revolve around special health awareness months (i.e. May is National Stroke month, so we have a stroke program). Also, look for our regular programs: Healthy Hearts, Weight Management and Women’s Health.
CPR and First Aid Classes
Whether you need basic CPR skills or health care provider certification, the Center for Healthy Lifestyles has a class for it. We have classes in adult, child, and infant CPR, AED and first aid certifications. We also have the option for you to take online CPR classes with scheduled testing to better suit your needs.
