Behavioral Health Services
For more than 25 years, the OSF Saint Francis Medical Center Behavioral Health Services has been providing support for children and adults who are facing acute emotional or behavioral problems that have a negative impact on daily life coping and functioning. Our mission is to provide high-quality, interdisciplinary and collaborative care in a compassionate and nurturing environment which enhances the emotional, physical and spiritual well-being of patients, families, employees and the community.
Our multidisciplinary team approach not only involves health care professionals and counselors, but also involves the patient and family in the development of their own individualized treatment plan. We conduct an initial evaluation to gather history and gain a better understanding of the current problem before we recommend a course of treatment.
We understand that emotional and behavioral problems can cause stress and concern and their impact can affect the entire family. Recognizing a problem and seeking help can be difficult, but reaching out for help through counseling can be the first step toward better functioning. Our goal is to provide evidence-based, effective treatment approaches to promote improved coping skills and management of behavioral symptoms.
