The Emergency Department at OSF HealthCare Saint Paul Medical Center is staffed around the clock by emergency medicine physicians.
Nurses and physicians are trained in Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support and emergency care.
We also participate in the OSF Stroke Network which provides early detection and treatment for stroke symptoms.
When should I use Emergency Services?
If you are currently experiencing a medical emergency or a life-threatening situation, please call 9-1-1 immediately.
Your visit to OSF Saint Paul Medical Center Emergency Department will include:
- Triage - a brief exam to determine priority of care
- Registration - Consent for treatment and confirm personal information
- Exam - Nursing and physician physical exam
- Diagnostics - Lab, X-Ray, CT, and/or EKG
- Treatment - individualized on patient needs
- Discharge - Treat and Release, Hospital Admission, or Transfer to a higher level of care
