History

SACN-students.jpg The college has developed and grown by offering high-quality instruction and valuable learning experiences at excellent clinical facilities, and is highly respected for the outstanding educational preparation, professionalism, and compassion of its graduates.

We are a small, private college that fosters close relationships between the community and students, faculty, staff and health care providers.

The college transitioned from a diploma school to a baccalaureate degree-granting college in 1990, offering a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree program. The college launched a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree program in 2006.

In 2008 the college expanded to a second site at 698 Featherstone Road, Rockford, Illinois, and in 2014 launched the Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) program.

In summer 2017, the college moved its main campus to a new health sciences building located on the Rock Valley Community College Campus, 3301 N. Mulford Road .
