OSF PromptCare are walk-in clinics designed to assess and treat minor illnesses and injuries when a patient’s primary care provider is busy or unavailable.

OSF PromptCare sites also offer lab and radiology services on-site. 

OSF PromptCare is not designed to provide care for life-threating illnesses or injuries. ALWAYS CALL 9-1-1 IN CASE OF AN EMERGENCY.

OSF OnCall, a virtual urgent care clinic that can treat a variety of minor illnesses and has the added convenience of being accessible 24/7 from the home or office.

Some of the minor illnesses and injuries that can be treated at OSF PromptCare include:

  • Animal bites or insect stings
  • Asthma symptoms (minor)
  • Bladder infection symptoms
  • Burns (minor)
  • Conjunctivitis/eye
  • Cough
  • Ear pain
  • Fever
  • Foreign body removal (minor)
  • Minor Cuts
  • Open and draining minor abscesses
  • Puncture wound needing tetanus shot
  • Sinus infection
  • Skin rashes
  • Sore throat
  • Sports physicals
  • Sprains, strains, possible broken bones
  • Stitches or staple removal

OSF PromptCare is not a replacement for your primary care doctor. After a visit with an OSF PromptCare doctor, you will be referred back to your primary care doctor for follow-up care as needed. If you do not have a doctor, you will be given a referral at the time of your visit

For more severe problems, such as chest pain, shortness of breath, abdominal pain or stroke symptoms, you should call 911 or seek treatment at the OSF St. Mary Emergency Department, which is open 24 hours a day to serve you.
