With one of the largest home ventilation programs in central Illinois, OSF HealthCare Children’s Hospital of Illinois offers expert ventilation support for families. This ensures that children with complex respiratory conditions receive care in a comfortable and familiar environment.

What is a Pediatric Home Ventilation Program?

The pediatric home ventilation program at OSF Children’s Hospital offers comprehensive, home-based respiratory care for children who require ventilators or specialized respiratory support. Our program brings together a team of experts to create a safe, effective plan tailored to your child’s unique needs, so that you and your family can manage care at home with confidence and ease.

What to Expect

Our specialists work closely with the family of each child in both inpatient and outpatient settings to help them make a seamless transition from hospital to home.

The many respiratory needs we meet include:

  • Supplemental oxygen
  • Chronic ventilator use
  • Positive pressure ventilation (BiPAP or CPAP) via face mask or trach

Your Care Team

Our team includes a pediatric pulmonologist, respiratory therapist, pediatric dietician and social
worker. These specialists also collaborate with OSF Children's Hospital
speech therapists and counselors in order to provide the best possible care for children with
