Financing for Bariatric Patients

OSF Little Company of Mary is happy to provide comprehensive bariatric surgery services to patients for whom the surgery is medically necessary and for those who meet the criteria established by the National Institutes of Health.

Hospital bariatric surgery services include standard pre-admission testing and up to three days' hospital stay (day of surgery plus two more nights) for services related to bariatric surgery. 

If your hospital stay exceeds three days, has additional surgical procedures, or has any complications requiring the use of hospital services not typically provided to the bariatric surgery patient, you will be responsible for an additional payment beyond what is listed in the standard payment rates.

Important Billing Information

Please be advised that all physicians who provide services as part of the bariatric program will bill you separately. Those physicians include the bariatric surgeon, the assistant surgeon, anesthesiologist, pulmonologist, pathologist, psychologist, and perhaps additional physicians who may be involved in providing you with quality medical care. 

We understand that each physician involved in the bariatric program has standard self-pay rates so that you can be given a package rate for your bariatric surgery. 

Self-pay requirements provide that you make your payment to cover the hospital services for bariatric surgery by certified check, money order, or credit card on or before the date of your scheduled pre-admission testing. 

If you do not have the appropriate form of payment with you on the date of testing or have not made payment before that date, we cannot provide service to you.
